North Texas restaurant ranks No. 2 on Yelp's Best Places to Eat

CELINA, Texas - A North Texas barbecue restaurant was named the second best place to eat in the country, thanks to Yelp users.

Tender Smokehouse opened in Celina, just north of Frisco, less than two years ago. It’s now listed as No. 2 on the review website's 2019 Best Places to Eat. The list is based on restaurant ratings on Yelp and the number of reviews.

Pitmaster and owner Dante Ramirez says he started smoking meats as a kid with his dad and his passion for the art form only grew.

“We just stay loyal to what our guests’ expectations are that we'll do good,” he said. “And we've been blessed beyond belief here."

"it's just mind-blowing how good it was,” said customer Jenny James. “I'm kind of stunned, actually. It's that good."

The No. 1 restaurant was Bangers & Brews in Bend, Oregon.

Tender Smokehouse has an average of five stars and more than 150 reviews on Yelp. It is open Tuesday through Saturday.
