Motorcyclist killed in hit and run on I-35 in Dalllas

The family of a man who died after a hit and run crash in Dallas on Monday is urging the driver to surrender.

Max Mills, 38, was on his 2007 Kawasaki when witnesses said he and the driver of a black Corvette began racing on I-35 in Dallas near the on-ramp of Harry Hines Blvd. and Regal Row about 10:15 a.m. Monday.

Investigators said after traveling at high rates of speed the corvette suddenly cut across the lanes and clipped Mills' bike -- causing him to crash.

"Right now we're investigating this incident as a crime because the person did flee the scene and there was a death that resulted in this incident,” said Dallas County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Melinda Urbina.

Sheriff’s officials hope someone recognizes the newer model Corvette, either a 2014 or 2015 all-black model.

Ex-wife Andrea Mills said Max was passionate about everything related to motorcycles.

"He loved life, he loved people, he loved his family...oh he loved his family,” Andrea Mills said. “He was a good man."

Andrea wants the driver to be held responsible.

"I would have a hard time if that was me, knowing what had happened and having that on my thoughts."
