Organized crime ring targets Midlothian pharmacies; 5 still wanted

What we know:

Midlothian police are searching for five men accused of participating in an organized pharmacy crime ring responsible for multiple burglaries since July.

Authorities have obtained warrants for the following suspects:

  • Jerry Collins, 35
  • Christopher McCoy, 30
  • Kaylon Roland, 31
  • Remond Williams, 27
  • Bradford Wines, 23

The men face multiple charges, including burglary of a building where a controlled substance is stored, a third-degree felony, and engaging in organized criminal activity, a second-degree felony.

In total, 26 warrants have been issued with bonds set at approximately $2.6 million.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspects or their whereabouts to call 911 immediately.

The backstory:

The investigation began on July 8, when Midlothian police responded to a burglary at All Care Pharmacy on South Midlothian Parkway. Officers found that unknown suspects had broken a window to enter the building and stolen controlled substances.

A second burglary occurred at the same pharmacy on Sept. 21.

Additional break-ins occurred on Sept. 25 at Ropheka Pharmacy on Hawkins Run and Sept. 26 at Midlothian Pharmacy on South 14th Street.

Investigators identified a pattern of similar crimes occurring in other cities around the same time.

Police initially arrested Demetrius Wines and later took Alfred Echols into custody in connection to the burglaries.

Further investigation led officers to identify five additional suspects. Warrants have now been issued.
