McKinney hit-and-run crash kills 14-year-old pedestrian

 

McKinney police are looking for a driver who hit a 14-year-old pedestrian and then drove off.

The teen boy was hit near Lake Forest Drive and Highlands Drive at 6:14 p.m. on Saturday.

The car that hit the teen drove off.

Another car stopped at the scene to help the boy and emergency crews rushed him to the hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

McKinney police say the car that hit the boy is described as a dark 4-door sedan with possible front-end damage and a damaged passenger side mirror.

"This is a devastating tragedy for the family and community," said Chief Joe Ellenburg in a statement. "We extend our deepest condolences to the family and remain committed to finding the individual responsible for this terrible incident."

The 14-year-old has not been identified at this time.
