A memorial continues to grow in McKinney where a 14-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday.

Meanwhile, police continue to look for the driver.

The Backstory: Family members say Jamir Dabney was hit and killed while riding his bike near Lake Forest Drive and Highlands Drive at 6:14 p.m. on Saturday.

The car that hit the teen drove off.

Another car stopped at the scene to help Dabney and emergency crews rushed him to the hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

McKinney police described the car that hit the teen as a dark 4-door sedan with possible front-end damage and a damaged passenger side mirror.

What We Don't Know: Police are still working to identify the driver.

If you have any information about the incident, you're encouraged to call McKinney Police.

What We Know: Family members tell FOX 4 Dabney was a student at Evans Middle School.

He also played on the school's football team and planned to join ROTC in high school.

What They're Saying: Dabney's family came to the site on Sunday at 6:14 p.m., the exact time of the crash the day before.

"That day, that time, has changed our lives forever," said Jerrilyn Dabney, Jamir's grandmother. "What person would just leave a child laying in the road?"

The family is pleading for whoever is responsible to turn themselves in.

"This is everything to us," said Dabney. "We are hurting, please come forward."

Dabney's classmates have also come to the site of the crash to pay their respects and add to the memorial.

"I brought a football, because he’s a great football player and he only deserves the best," said Jeremy Goldwyn, one of the victim's friends. "He wouldn't want you to do anything stupid to yourself, he would want you to do something great for him, that's what I think."
