Man who recorded bike crash speaks out

The video has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people -- a car swerving into a motorcycle, causing the rider and his passenger to wreck near Granbury.

The two people on that motorcycle were both hurt, and one remains in the hospital.

For the first time, the man who captured the video on his GoPro helmet camera, Brian Fisher, opened up about the incident.

Fisher has only been riding a couple of years and he always has a camera on the side of his helmet.

“‘Cause something's gonna happen sometime,” said Fisher.

The video caught the tremendous crash as his friend Eric Sanders and Sanders’ girlfriend went tumbling across the pavement.

William Crum is in jail for swerving his car and hitting the couple as the motorcycle tried to pass him on double yellow lines.

Even though he took the videos, Fisher has only watched the video only a couple of times.

“That's my friend,” said Fisher. “We're like family. We all ride bikes. Him hitting him is like him hitting me."

It was Fisher who went over to Crum immediately after the crash.

“He just kept saying he didn't care,” said Fisher. “I told him I had it on video. It seems like he changed his story a little bit that he got stung by a bee."

Crum was sticking to that when he talked from jail after he was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Sanders got up right after the crash.

He got some stitches and cuts. His girlfriend remains in the hospital with a serious injury.

“We're on a bike,” said Fisher. “We don't have much protection besides the gear we're wearing."

The video is still difficult for Fisher to watch. To him, it's not a viral social media event; it's people he knows.

“Hopefully all this happening will change the point of view of other people that might feel the same about motorcycles,” he said.

Sanders says his girlfriend will have to undergo several surgeries before she’ll be well again.
