Man fatally shot while sitting in car in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas - Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a man sitting in a car in east Fort Worth.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 4200 block of Village Creek, which is near Loop 820 and Highway 287.

The victim was in a car with another person at the time. That person called 911 and stayed until help arrived.

The injured man died at the hospital. Police would only identify him as a black male who was in his late 20s or early 30s.

Police are investigating a second crime scene just a few blocks away from where the shooting happened, but they have not yet said if the two are connected.

No arrests have been made.
