Man fatally shot after assaulting woman in Dallas parking lot

A man who was fighting with a woman in northwest Dallas was shot and killed early Friday morning.

Police found the man in a wrecked out car on Harry Hines Boulevard near Walnut Hill Lane around 2 a.m. His name has not yet been released.

Investigators believe he was shot while arguing with an unknown woman in a nearby parking lot. After he began to physically assault her, a group of people in a red pickup truck drove by and opened fire.

Around the same time, another man told police he was sideswiped on Royal Lane by people in a red pickup and white SUV that were traveling together.

The witness said he started to follow the two vehicles but was rammed twice. Then the people in the vehicles threatened to shoot him.

Police believe the two cases are linked. They’re now looking for the suspects.
