Chase Starts in Mesquite and Ends in SE Dallas
MESQUITE, Texas - A man was arrested overnight Friday after leading police on a high speed chase through multiple cities that topped speeds of 100 miles per hour.
This started just before midnight in Mesquite, when police said they tried to pull over a black 2016 Dodge Charger on Westbound 80 and Big Town, but the driver, later identified as 22-year-old Travis Ward, refused to stop.
The chase went on I-45, to I-20, through a few neighborhoods, before entering onto Highway 175.
DPS, Dallas PD, and the Dallas County Sheriff's Office assisted in the pursuit.

Police said the chase lasted about 20 minutes, and the car eventually stopped at Masters Drive in Southeast Dallas.
Ward tried to run away, but he was eventually caught.
According to Mesquite police, officers found several pounds of marijuana and THC oil, a "large amount" of cash, and handgun magazines.
No injuries were reported.
Ward is facing evading arrest with a vehicle and drug charges. He is also facing warrants from the Cedar Hill Police Department.
