Lewisville PD releases images of suspected store owner's killer
LEWISVILLE, Texas - Loyal customers of a murdered Lewisville store owner gathered Thursday afternoon for a vigil in his honor.
Lewisville PD released surveillance images in hopes of finding the killer who robbed and shot Suresh “Sam” Shah Monday night as he closed his liquor store.
Police are hoping the public will take a good look at the images showing the gunman who they say murdered Suresh. Investigators say they need help identifying the thin build man wearing all black.
In the meantime, Suresh’s longtime customers are sharing pleasant memories.
"Me and my boy came in here one day and he had these little things,” recalled customer Terence Mason. “We were like, ‘What is it?’ He was like, ‘It’s a keychain.’ But the keychain popped out and turned into a shot glass. He hooked us up with those."
Suresh was a husband and father was shot and killed Monday night while locking up his Lewisville store. Police say the gunman rushed him, making demands.
Detectives are reviewing the surveillance video. They say it shows Suresh complying with the suspect’s demands, yet the person shot him anyway. His widow, Bina Shah, worked the counter Thursday afternoon. She says she has to keep the store operating and has hardly been able to grieve.
"It’s very, very difficult because I need to be home with the children. It's very difficult,” she said. “I can't sleep. I'm under a lot of stress with the business. What am I going to do? I don't know. It’s hard to make decisions in heavy grief like this."
