Thousands of people gathered bright and early Saturday at North Park Center in Dallas for the 34thannual Komen Dallas Race for the Cure.

FOX 4 is once again the proud media sponsor of the event that celebrates and honors loved ones in the fight against breast cancer. It funds breast health services in Dallas County, specifically those in underserved communities.

The Susan G. Komen organization recently announced a campaign, it calls the bold goal, to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50 percent in the next ten years.

One of the new features at this year's event was a Kids for the Cure area with a mobile discovery lab sponsored by the Perot Museum. Former Dallas Cowboys Drew Pearson was also there as Komen Champion.

FOX 4’s Clarice Tinsley, Heather Hays, Mike Doocy and Diana Zoga were at the event leading the coverage and sharing stories from survivors and their loved ones.
