Keller coach battling cancer surprised for Teacher Appreciation Week

A deserving teacher in the Keller school district who is currently battling Stage 4 colon cancer got a surprise Friday morning – a dream vacation.

Fossil Ridge High School teacher and soccer coach Adam Webb was surprised with an all-expenses-paid trip for his family to Boston to see the Red Sox play at Fenway Park.

It was covered as a “Wow Experience” by the Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation.

With the help of Spirit Airlines, Webb and his family of seven will also receive transportation to and from Boston this Memorial Day weekend.

“It’s amazing, the opportunity to take my family on a trip of a lifetime really. It’s something we’ve always wanted to do but never been able to do. And to have my family with me as we go through some of that stuff, it’s incredible,” he said.

Webb said he grew up in New Hampshire and has always been a Red Sox fan. Plus, his son is a huge history buff, which will make the trip extra exciting.

He thanked everyone for the amazing gift and a perfect end to Teacher Appreciation Week.
