Democratic Party releases Kamala Harris video update
The Democratic Party’s official account on X (formerly Twitter) released a short video of Vice President Kamala Harris, seemingly speaking to supporters and "their power" in their political and civic activities and to never give up.
Vice President Kamala Harris released the first public video to her supporters after the election this week.
The video, shared Tuesday by the Democratic Party’s official X account, featured Harris speaking directly to followers discouraged by the recent election.

"I just have to remind you, don’t let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before Nov. 5, and you have the same purpose that you did. And you have the same ability to engage and inspire. So don’t ever let anybody or any circumstance take your power from you," Harris said.
The post was liked more than 15,000 times and more than 21,000 people commented by Wednesday late morning.
But a vast majority of the comments were negative, with many questioning why this video was the one her staff chose to release, and some sharing concern about her wellbeing.
Harris has mostly kept out of the spotlight since the election and has been vacationing in Hawaii with second gentleman Doug Emhoff since last week.
The video was less than 30 seconds long.
A sentiment analysis by Storyful of over 16,000 of the earlier replies showed at least 76% of those were negative, and just 12% positive. Storyful is a social media and video licensing agency.

The video reportedly came from a call Harris took with donors and volunteers earlier in the day where she addressed her election loss for the first time since conceding to President-elect Donald Trump, FOX News reported.
She joined the conference call with supporters and declared she was "proud of the campaign we ran."
"What we did in 107 days was unprecedented," she said, noting that her campaign also raised more than $1.4 billion, which marks a record for U.S. presidential campaigns.
Staffers on the call also reportedly addressed why Harris didn’t sit down with one of the world’s most popular podcasters Joe Rogan.
Her team said she actually wanted to participate, but that the campaign wasn’t able to find a date to make it work.
"We had discussions with Joe Rogan’s team. They were great. They wanted us to come on. We wanted to come on," Stephanie Cutter, a senior adviser to Harris, reportedly said on the call. "Will she do it sometime in the future? Maybe. Who knows. But it didn’t ultimately impact the outcome one way or the other."
