Irving ISD teacher accused of improper relationship with student
An Irving ISD teacher has been accused of an improper relationship with a female high school student.
Farley Ashford Simon, 60, was involved in a relationship with a 17-year-old female Irving ISD student in Dec. 2015 and Jan. 2016, according to investigators. Police do not believe there was any other student with which Simon was involved.
Simon, according to the Irving ISD website, was a JROTC instructor at Irving High School and had worked in the district since 2014.
The mother of the victim notified Irving ISD administrators in late January about the possibility of the relationship. Officials then notified Irving police and an investigation began.
Simon was arrested on Feb. 19 and booked into Irving City Jail on two charges of Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. Simon has since bonded out of jail.
