Ice causes overnight crashes on I-20 in Dallas
DALLAS - Water on some roads turned into ice overnight and that has caused some major accidents.
The roads may have looked dry early Wednesday morning but some damp iced over. It caused major trouble for drivers on Interstate 20.
The Dallas sheriff’s deputies found a jackknifed FedEx 18-wheeler on eastbound I-20 near JJ Lemmon Road. The big rig apparently hit ice and slid into a median.
Earlier, deputies were forced to close the ramp on eastbound I-20 at Spur 408 after two vehicles hit ice and spun into a ditch. Thankfully, no one was hurt in that incident.
The roads are now back open and traffic is moving freely. Drivers are still urged to use caution in case of slick spots.
