Hundreds of police attend Officer Patrick Zamarripa's funeral
Dallas police officers lined up Saturday morning to salute the family of fallen Officer Patrick Zamarripa as they walked into his funeral.
The parking lot outside the funeral at Wilkerson Greines Athletic Center in Fort Worth was packed with law enforcement vehicles from across the country. Loved ones and people who had never met Zamarripa packed into the venue for his services.
The Navy veteran who served three tours overseas was given a posthumous promotion during Friday’s rosary service.
Officer Zamarripa will be buried at DFW National Cemetery.
Zamarripa was with the Dallas police department for seven years. He died July 7th when he and four other officers were shot and killed in an ambush in Downtown Dallas.
