The Girl Scouts in Troop 3480 spent the winter doing something they've never done. They learned how to design and sew pillow cases for children in the hospital. The girls were looking for a project to help them earn their Girl Scout Bronze Award.

The Plano Girl Scouts started from square one. Each girl spent her Friday night for weeks learning how to use a sewing machine and sewing hypo-allergenic pillow cases. That adds up to 20 hours of work from each Girl Scout.

The pillowcases are vibrant colors and fun designs because the girls wanted to replace the patient's white pillow cases with something lively and fun.

The recipients are cystic fibrosis patients at Medical City Children's Hospital. There were pillow cases left over, so they were given to other pediatric patients.

Girl Scout Troop 3480 made about 125 pillowcases, and each child will take their pillow case home when they leave the hospital.
