The suspect accused of murdering an elderly man who opened his door expecting a Meals on Wheels delivery agreed to talk with FOX 4, but then she walked out in the middle of the jailhouse interview.
“Trouble is easy to get into just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said suspect Kristin Minor.
Minor denies being at the La Hacienda apartments last August and throwing 89-year-old Henry Sawyer to the ground and causing his death.
Minor abruptly ended FOX 4’s jailhouse interview when asked if she knew him.
Police say Sawyer heard a knock on his Fort Worth apartment door around lunchtime Aug. 28, expecting Meals on Wheels.
But when he opened it, police say he saw 32-year-old Minor, who allegedly barreled her way in, hitting him on the chest, causing him to slam his head on the floor.
Police say Minor stole money and food, ripped the phone cord from the wall and ran off.
A few moments later, the real Meals on Wheels driver arrived and found Sawyer bleeding and disoriented.
“She walked in right after the suspect fled his apartment, and he was screaming for help,” said Keith. “She was frightened and she immediately called 911.”
Sawyer died five days after the attack. His injuries included bleeding in the brain.
