FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are investigating a deadly shooting on the city's east side.
What We Know: Officers were called to Sanborn Street, near Beach Street, at 9:21 p.m. on Monday for the shooting.
Investigators say several people were standing outside of a home when the suspect shot the victim and then ran.
The responding officers found a victim on the ground who had been shot in his upper body. Medical personnel on scene performed medical care, but the victim died.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 37-year-old Henry Cordero. Records show Cordero was shot outside of his home.
Officers were able to find the suspect near the scene and detained him after what police called a "struggle."
The suspect was taken to the hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries.
What We Don't Know: The victim and suspect have not been identified at this time.
