Fort Worth police searching for 'increasingly violent' serial armed robber

FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are looking for a man wanted for committing several armed robberies who they say has become increasingly violent.

The latest robbery happened Monday night.

In the last six weeks, Fort Worth police say a man has committed at least five robberies at corner stores across the city, getting more aggressive each time.

"The individual is using different tactics to try and distract the clerk so they can rob the store and take the money," said Fort Worth Officer Buddy Calzada.

The 365 Food Store off North Main Street was hit twice.

According to police, the suspect first sat at a gaming machine, rushed the clerk with a knife and demanded cash both times.

Investigators say the same suspect also robbed ABC Food Store off Hemphill twice.

On Nov. 15, the suspect in a gray hoodie asked for change for a fake $100 bill. The suspect pushed the clerk behind the counter and told him to open the register while holding a knife.

While the suspect was grabbing the cash, a distinct ring was on his left hand.

"They are using a hood to try to cover their face," Calzada said. "As you can see, you can get a glimpse who this individual is."

Monday evening, Fort Worth police say a Food Mart off Mansfield Highway was hit. 

The owner of the store provided surveillance video to FOX 4, saying his employee was held at gunpoint. The same suspect is seen in a camouflage jacket walking out of the store.

About $2,000 in cash was taken along with rolls of lottery scratch-offs and cartons of cigarettes.

Behind him, video shows a second man in a dark-colored hoodie also with his hands full.

Police say the main suspect is seen entering and leaving the stores on foot, so they do not have a vehicle description at this time. They do not know if the man lives in the city of Fort Worth.
