Fort Worth Police investigate shooting at large party

Fort Worth Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s south side.

Around 1:00 a.m. Sunday Officers responded to a fight call at 8224 Boulder Canyon Trail where there were as many as 400 people at a party.

While officers were on scene, shots were fired and officers believe they were directed at them.

Witnesses said a man was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. Police said the man’s injury is non-life threatening.  

Officers stopped a vehicle attempting to flee the scene. Five people were detained.
