Fort Worth police are investigating a shooting involving its officers Tuesday night.
Police received several 911 calls about a man with a knife in the middle of East Loop 820 around 7 p.m.
When officers approached the man, police say he charged at them with the weapon and was shot by two police officers. He was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.
Officer Daniel Segura says officers shot the man only after other measures failed.
Southbound lanes on East Loop 820 were shut down from Trinity Boulevard to I-30 while police investigated the shooting but were reopened shortly before 10 p.m. Northbound lanes were briefly shut down as well.
No officers were injured.
