Fort Worth girl runs into KFC to escape alleged kidnapper

A girl who was allegedly kidnapped from her Fort Worth home last week was rescued after running into a fast food restaurant for help.

Azle police said the juvenile female ran into the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Boyd Road Tuesday saying that she was being held against her will. She said was able to escape her captor because he left her unattended in a car while he went into a nearby pawn shop.

Responding officers quickly arrested 24-year-old Diamond Marquis Williams of Fort Worth.

Investigators believe Williams met the girl through Snapchat. He’s accused of taking her from the home she shares with her parents in Fort Worth.

Her abduction was never reported and she wasn’t listed as a runaway because police said Williams forced her to contact her family and tell them that she was okay and with friends.

The victim was questioned by detectives and then taken to the hospital for treatment and a medical evaluation. She was reunited with her family at the hospital, police said.

“Azle Police Department extends our thanks to the employees of Kentucky Fried Chicken, for providing a safe place for the juvenile victim and giving quick accurate suspect information to the 911 operator and responding officers,” police said in a news release.

Williams is being held in the Tarrant County jail while police continue investigating.

He’s facing charges for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault of a child, both felony offenses.
