Fort Worth credit card thieves caught on camera
FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are looking for the people using the stolen credit card numbers of city workers.
According to detectives, the thefts began last November. Since then the suspects have used the stolen information to make more than 500 transactions. They’ve spent nearly $150,000 over the past four months.
Police have released several photos and now surveillance video. They know someone out there has the clue they need.
“And maybe somebody can get these guys identified,” said Det. Ron Turner with the Fort Worth Police Department. “They were able to compromise such a vast amount of people’s information in what looks like a relatively short amount of time. Odds are they’re doing it to other people also.”
It is not yet clear how the credit card information was compromised.
