Fire destroys home in East Dallas
A fire gutted a duplex under renovation in east Dallas Saturday morning.
Fire officials said it happened in the 4900 block of East Side Avenue around 1 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting from the windows of the duplex, and the roof collapsed.
Fire officials said a man inside the duplex made it out safely.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
