DALLAS - Law enforcement officials in Dallas County are looking for the driver who caused a fatal crash involving a motorcycle early Monday morning.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 20 at Cedar Ridge Drive.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of an unknown vehicle collided with a motorcycle in the westbound lanes of the interstate.
The motorcyclist fell off the bike and was struck by at least one 18-wheeler and another vehicle. He died at the scene.
Deputies said severe vehicles stopped to try to help the motorcyclist, but the driver who caused the initial crash did not.
They are now looking for information about that hit-and-run driver, whose vehicle likely has front end and windshield damage.
Anyone who saw something or has dash camera video is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at VCU@dallascounty.org or 214-589-2343.
All westbound lanes of I-20 at Cedar Ridge Drive were closed Monday morning because of the investigation and cleanup.
