Dallas police are investigating a deadly shooting involving the Farmers Branch Police Department.
An officer from the suburb north of Dallas shot and killed a man around 7 p.m. Wednesday near Royal Lane and Interstate 35 in northwest Dallas.
Farmers Branch police said the officers were monitoring three people inside a stolen pickup truck. They said the driver tried to run over an officer and that officer shot the driver through the windshield.
The driver died. The officer was also hurt and taken to the hospital but he is expected to recover.
The other two people inside the pickup were not hurt. They were detained for questioning, police said.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
