GREENSBORO, N.C. (FOX 13) - A fair worker who was trying to fix a broken Ferris wheel in North Carolina fell from the ride and suffered minor injuries.
Two children were trapped on a malfunctioning Ferris wheel during the Central Carolina Fair in Greensboro on Friday. The operator had to temporarily shut down the ride when one of the cars was tilted out of position. Both boys made it back to the ground safely.
Cellphone video showed the worker climbing up the Ferris wheel. When the worker dislodged the car, he lost his balance and fell, banging his body on the ride.
The Central Carolina Fair in Greensboro said in a statement Saturday that the worker was taken to a hospital. He was later released. They also said the operator, "followed safety procedures to safely unload all passengers."
The ride was inspected by state officials and approved for future use.
