String of triple-digit days to test Texas power grid

The Texas power grid will get a big test this week with triple-digit temperatures in the forecast for the whole week. Good Day talked about the state's capacity to cool off with Doug Lewin, the author of "Texas Energy and Power Newsletter." He's also a podcast host and president of "Stoic Energy."

The Texas power grid operator issued a weather watch that will be in effect through at least Friday.

With temperatures expected to be in the triple digits throughout the week and a heat advisory in effect, most North Texans will be trying to stay cool indoors.

ERCOT said there is currently enough capacity to meet the expected need.

The agency predicts the state will set a new record for demand this week.
