DESOTO, Texas - The superintendent of a troubled Dallas County school district is expected to resign. It’s the second time he’s tried to do so.
According to the agenda for Monday nights school board meeting, D’Andre Weaver will submit his resignation and leave the DeSoto Independent School District.
Weaver took over the long-troubled district three years ago with a deep deficit blamed on mismanagement and corruption. It now has a budget surplus.
Weaver resigned more than a year ago when the district was nearly taken over by the state, but he was talked into returning.

This time, he said there’s no drama in his plan to step down in December.
Weaver told the Dallas Morning News he feels like he has done all that he can for the district and wants to take more time for his family now that he and his wife are expecting their third child.
