A fire investigation has turned into a murder case in Dallas.

Police now believe the man found dead in a burning Pleasant Grove duplex was killed before the fire.

Firefighters found his body after they put out the flames in the one-story duplex near North Jim Miller and Forney roads early Monday morning.

The Dallas County medical examiner determined he died from homicidal violence. He has not yet been identified, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dallas Police Department’s homicide unit at 214-671-3702 or email Jeffrey.loeb@dallascityhall.com.

The people who live on the other side of the duplex escaped and were not hurt.
