DALLAS - Several North Texas school districts, including Dallas ISD and Fort Worth ISD, will be closed on Tuesday because of the winter weather.
Things will be dry on Tuesday, but the temperatures will be below freezing for the entire day, only getting into the upper 20s. That means some of the snow that fell late Sunday and on Monday could be on the ground.

Fort Worth ISD made the call to cancel school just before 3 p.m. on Monday, then shortly after there was a ripple effect. Dallas ISD, Arlington ISD, and several other North Texas districts followed suit.

Dallas, Fort Worth ISDs among districts closing Tuesday
Several North Texas schools are closing on Tuesday after a snowy Monday. Dallas and Fort Worth ISD were among the districts opting to close. FOX 4's Peyton Yager explained the decision by some districts to close and others that are staying open.
Some universities, like TCU in Fort Worth, also decided to cancel for Tuesday.

Kids, Parents React to School Closures
There were mixed reactions in the Bubeck's Keller home when the three-day weekend turned into a four-day weekend for their five kids.
"Joy. Yeah, we get to stay home again," said father, Brandon Bubeck.
Brandon and Natasha Bubeck said they weren't expecting Keller ISD to call off school Tuesday.
"Growing up, closing school was a huge deal. It was never closed because of just cold," Bubeck said.
Monday was a school holiday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but by the afternoon, dozens of school districts made the same call to cancel school Tuesday due to the winter weather.
FOX 4 crews spotted snow on the ground outside at least one Fort Worth ISD elementary school, but other Tarrant County schools had no trace of the morning snowfall.
Tuesday is expected to be dry, but temperatures will stay below freezing, with bone-chilling wind chills for children.
Districts said many factors played into their decisions, including the danger of students waiting at bus stops, ice on bridges and overpasses, and staffing.
Keller ISD mentioned the extra day off allows maintenance crews to make sure all buildings are safe.
As for the Bubecks, their Tuesday will look much different.
"Lots of different games," said Bubeck.
The family of 7 will be at home again.
"I'll continue to try my best to work from home. My lovely wife will entertain as best we can," he said.

Some schools open despite Tuesday's freezing temps
Dozens of local school districts including Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington ISDs are closed Tuesday due to the extremely cold weather. But other districts decided to open their doors since there's no ice on the roads.
Not all school districts decided calling off class was the right move.
Frisco posted "see you tomorrow" when it announced class would be in session on Tuesday.
Denton ISD, Lewisville ISD, Carroll ISD, and Northwest ISD also chose to bring the kids back on Tuesday. Northwest asked students to dress in layers.
Allen ISD school officials told parents they monitored the road conditions and feel confident people will be safe driving to campus.
McKinney ISD said it would notify parents if anything changed. Otherwise, the school district encouraged students to bundle up for class on Tuesday.

Although there is no more snow in the forecast, the wind chills are expected to be in the single and negative digits early Tuesday morning.
The rest of the day will remain below freezing with temperatures only getting into the upper 20s.
