Dallas County Crashes
By the numbers:
The Dallas County Sheriff's Office says it worked 62 accidents from 5 a.m. Thursday through 9 a.m. Friday.
27 of those accidents were considered "major" and 35 were marked as "minor."
On Friday, it appears far fewer cars were on the roads than usual.
Dallas reported half the normal number of accidents on a typical January day.
The backstory:
Thursday, the first round of sleet, snow and ice came down.
Overnight, another light blanket of snow fell, but it was not enough to drastically change conditions in Dallas.
What's next:
Dallas Public Works will continue to work all day to clear problem spots and they want drivers to be mindful that roads can freeze over again late Friday night.
