Tyrese Simmons
A Dallas capital murder suspect who took off days before his trial has been arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Tyrese Simmons was set to go on trial on June 5 for the 2019 murder of 9-year-old Brandoniya Bennett before he disappeared. He was one of three men wanted for the crime.
Police said the 23-year-old’s ankle monitor was tampered with while he was under house arrest.

A 23-year-old man, just days away from his murder trial, is still missing after removing his ankle monitor, according to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office.
Simmons is facing charges in Oklahoma. Once those are taken care of, he will be extradited back to Dallas.
He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
