Dallas 17-year-old allegedly murdered 14-year-old over THC vape pen

Dallas police arrested a 17-year-old male for the death of a 14-year-old in East Oak Cliff earlier this month.

The U.S. Marshals’ Task Force arrested 17-year-old Andrew Gallegos on Monday morning.

He’s now charged with capital murder for the death of 14-year-old Adam Gutierrez on March 13.

Gutierrez and three females drove to a home on Exeter Avenue to sell Gallegos a THC vape pen, according to an arrest affidavit.

Gallegos said he had to go back to the home to get some change for the $25 pen.

After 5-10 minutes, Gutierrez received a text message, telling the suspect to go to the door of the house, according to the documents.

Shortly after, the three females heard a gunshot and left the area.

Gutierrez was later found in an alley near the home. Jewelry he had been wearing at the time was missing, according to the affidavit.

Dallas Police investigate after 14-year-old dies in East Oak Cliff neighborhood

Dallas police officers found a 14-year-old with fatal injuries early Thursday morning in the East Oak Cliff area and are investigating the case as a homicide.

Both Gallegos and Gutierrez attended Molina High School in Dallas.

What we don't know:

The arrest warrant affidavit mentions a second unknown suspect who pointed a gun at the females.

Police have not said if they are looking for additional suspects in the case.
