COLLEYVILLE, Texas - An aggravated robbery suspect shot himself during a three-hour standoff with police in Tarrant County.

People living there were told to stay in their homes and lock their doors.
Many families were home at the time of the standoff. Kids are not in school on Friday for a holiday.
Around 11:30 a.m., people were alerted by authorities to stay indoors and lock their doors.

A 17-year-old is under home confinement facing charges in the crash that killed six family members in North Texas last year.
A man armed with a gun caused Colleyville families at the end of a cul-de-sac to shelter in place Friday.
"About 11:30, we locked our doors, brought our dogs inside and set the alarm on the house," said neighbor Kevin Pegram.
Friday morning, the Dallas Police Fugitive Unit was tracking the man wanted for aggravated robbery and armed carjacking.
The suspect, who has not been identified, led Dallas police into the city of Bedford.
Dallas police then requested help from Bedford police to pull him over. Instead, he led police on a chase into a neighborhood in Colleyville.
Around 10:30 a.m., officers had the Range Rover cornered at the dead end of a cul-de sac. Police say the suspect got out of the Range Rover he was driving with a pistol in his hand.
Cell phone video shows the man rocking back and forth positioned behind the Range Rover. You can hear the man yelling back at SWAT negotiators.

The standoff went on for three hours.
Multiple agencies, including a regional SWAT team, Colleyville police, Bedford police and the FBI worked to get the suspect to surrender.
People living nearby were ordered to stay indoors.
"Stay in your house and lock the doors because he was running around and armed," said neighbor Dominic Sansone.
Around 2:30 p.m., the SWAT team deployed flash bangs in an attempt to distract the man. Police say he then grabbed the gun off the hood of the Range Rover and shot himself.
The Range Rover was loaded up and towed away by police right before the scene was cleared Friday evening, ending the tense scene in the quiet neighborhood.
Police are not releasing the suspect’s name. At last check, he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Dallas police wouldn’t elaborate on how long they’ve been looking for the suspect or when the carjacking took place.
