Amazing Christmas light display for a good cause

A man in Arlington has created a Christmas light display of over 500,000 lights at his home in Dalworthington Gardens in honor of his mother who passed from Alzheimer's disease.

A Tarrant County man has created a Christmas light display of over 500,000 lights at his home in Dalworthington Gardens in honor of his mother who passed away from Alzheimer's disease.

David Kulesz' Christmas light display has been drawing crowds from all around for more than 25 years.

He says in his first years he started with around 39,000 lights and has grown the display to 500,000.

"When I was growing up we didn't have any outside Christmas lights, but for some reason I just caught the bug and decided it would be great to have outside lights. So I just started adding more and more every year as I could afford it," Kulesz explained.

Visitors will notice a sign at the home with a QR code asking for donations to the North Central Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association

David lost his mother, Marguerite, to the disease in 2000 and the display is his way of honoring her as she loved to view Christmas lights even well after she was diagnosed.

David Kulesz' Christmas light display has been drawing crowds from all around for more than 25 years. It has now grown to 500,000 lights.

"It does make me feel good that I'm doing something good for the community, and I'm helping raise money for Alzheimer's. It just makes me feel good and makes everyone else feel good. That's what you should do in the Christmas season," said Kulesz.

You can visit the display at 2 Rushing Meadow Court in Dalworthington Gardens.
