Bishop TD Jakes makes NYE return to The Potter’s House after health scare
DALLAS - Bishop TD Jakes returned to The Potter’s House on New Year’s Eve.
Just a few weeks ago, Jakes suffered a health scare while delivering a sermon at the Dallas megachurch.
The crowd gave him a standing ovation when he appeared on stage for the church’s New Year’s Eve service.

Without giving specifics, Jakes told his congregation he "nearly died" during emergency surgery.
He thanked his medical staff and all who prayed throughout his recovery.
"You fought back. You spoke in tongues. You cried. You prayed. You prevailed. You danced. You laid prostrate on the floor. And every time you did it, death had to back up off of me," he said.
The collapse happened on Nov. 24 at the end of a Sunday sermon.
Video from the church’s stream posted on social media showed the 67-year-old preacher lowering his microphone while starting to shake. He was quickly rushed off stage.
The Potter’s House has not explained what caused the health scare, though Jakes said on social media days later that it was "not a stroke."
