Baylor Medical Center announces womb transplant trial
Doctors at Baylor University Medical Center on Friday announced a clinical trial for womb transplants.
Surgeons will implant the uterus of ten women into ten other women who can't have children.
“They will be surrounded by a cocoon of the most skilled nurses,” said Dr. Goran Klintmalm. “The most skilled physicians that this institution has to offer from the time of implantation to the finishing of the delivery, the cesaerian section.”
Baylor is an established name in the transplant world.
Candidates must all be screened for the procedure and it’s only open to women who have no uterus, and cannot carry a pregnancy.
