ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police believe the same group of suspects was responsible for two shootings on Saturday.
The first shooting happened at an apartment complex on Deer Creek Drive, near E Park Row Drive.
A 32-year-old woman was shot at the apartment shortly after 1:30 a.m.
The woman's boyfriend told officers that a group of young men knocked on the door and asked about a man that did not live there. The boyfriend and the group began to argue. When the boyfriend went to get a bat and told the group to leave, one of the men pulled out a gun and started to shoot at the apartment.
The woman was hit in the arm and a dog was grazed by a bullet. The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the dog is expected to be okay.
The suspects got into a Honda Civic and drove away from the scene.
The second shooting happened around 3 a.m., about 12 miles away from the scene of the first shooting.
Police were called to a parking lot on Little Road, near Highway 287, where they found a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound inside of a parked vehicle.
A woman who was with the man at the time of the shooting told officers that as they were getting into the car, a vehicle that is believed to be the Honda Civic from the shooting on Deer Creek Drive, blocked them in.
Four people got out of the vehicle and one pointed a gun at the couple, telling them to get out of the car. Shots were fired shortly after and the 34-year-old was struck.
The suspects got back into the Honda Civic and drove off.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Investigators say witness testimony and nearby surveillance footage helped officers get a description of the vehicle, which had been reported to be stolen in Dallas.
Officers spotted the vehicle shortly after 5 a.m., along with a Lincoln Town Car that appeared to be following the Honda. When officers attempted to pull over the Honda, the driver sped off.
The Lincoln pulled over. Police say the two people inside were associated with the suspects in the Honda.
20-year-old Humberto Barajas was booked into the Arlington City Jail and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery. Arlington Police say he also had a warrant out for his arrest on an unrelated aggravated assault case in Dallas County.
The other suspect was a juvenile and police did not release his name because of his age. He was also charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery.
Officers eventually found the Honda Civic had crashed on Browning Drive. Angel Barajas, 17, was believed to be inside the vehicle and was arrested. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one count of aggravated robbery and one count of evading arrest.
Arlington police say they are still working to identify and locate a fourth suspect.
