Arlington robbery suspect arrested after shootout with police
ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police released more details about an armed robbery that turned into a shootout between officers and the suspect on Friday night.

What we know:
Shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, Arlington police officers were called to a shopping center on Pioneer Parkway and Matlock Road for an armed robbery in progress.
A 911 caller told police they saw two people who were possibly armed enter the business.
When officers arrived, they surrounded the area.
Two officers at the business's back door saw a man exit the building and begin running.
A second man in the doorway had a gun and began to fire at the officers. The officers returned fire, shooting multiple times.
The suspect went back into the business and tried to leave out of the front door. He was arrested by officers without incident.
Neither the officers nor the suspect were injured in the shooting.
After the shots were fired, employees inside the business tried to exit out of the back door. The employees had their hands and legs bound by tape, according to police. None of the employees were injured.

The suspect, 37-year-old Kelvin Bivens, has been charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and aggravated robbery.

Police are working to find the second suspect involved in the robbery.

Per Arlington Police Department policies, both officers who fired their weapons have been placed on administrative leave.
