Alleged drunk drivers collide in Fort Worth crash

Fort Worth police said a man and a woman were both arrested for DWIs after crashing into each other and a third vehicle in southeast Fort Worth early Monday morning.

Fort Worth police said a man and a woman were both arrested for DWIs after crashing into each other and a third vehicle in southeast Fort Worth early Monday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. when the driver of a Honda, 26-year-old Rachel Hadley, lost control and struck a construction barricade on the Martin Luther King Freeway and Highway 287 southbound ramp.

A white Dodge carrying several construction workers stopped to help the woman. That's when police said a second DWI suspect hit them.

The 21-year-old man, allegedly driving under the influence in a Chevy Malibu, crashed into the Honda, the Dodge, and a person standing on the roadside.

The passengers in the Malibu had to be cut out of the car. They were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, but are expected to survive.

The worker who was hit suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Dallas murder suspect, 18, believed to be in country illegally, records show

Two suspects, 16 and 18, have been charged with murder in the shooting death of Alexis Fernando Estrada Zambrano.

"This was a serious accident. I can't believe no one lost their life. They're very fortunate. The unfortunate part is people still choose to get on our roadways. The frustrating part is it happens on a daily basis and it happens way too often," said Officer Buddy Calzada with the Fort Worth Police Department.

Police said Hadley, the Honda driver, was arrested for DWI. The driver of the Malibu was taken to a local hospital and will be charged with intoxication assault.

Highway 287 was shut down for hours on Monday morning for investigation and cleanup.
