Five people were injured when a police chase involving a stolen pickup truck ended in a crash in Fort Worth Monday afternoon.

The chase started when the suspects were pulled over and took off and ended on a railroad crossing clogged with smashed up vehicles. Police say the driver of the stolen truck will face several criminal charges.

Jesus Martinez said it was chaos.

"I looked out my window, and I saw the truck flying,” he recalled. “It was going about 100 miles an hour."

Martinez shot cell phone video just moments after he helped pull an injured man from a smashed car.

“Whenever he hit that little black car right there and the truck just flipped, and it just went on top of the other cars,” Martinez said.

Fort Worth police say the white truck was stolen and took off when officers tried to pull it over just after 2:30 p.m. The chase lasted about 10 minutes until the driver clipped a cement curb in front of the railroad tracks, went airborne and crashed into several other cars on Northside Drive, three blocks east of Main.

“It was pretty bad. He was bleeding all over his face and everything, Martinez said.

Police say the man in the Fiat, a passenger of an SUV and another person were taken to the hospital. The two people in the stolen pickup truck were also sent to the hospital. Two other people were treated at the scene.

Police say the driver of the stolen truck is in critical condition. One other vehicle was also hit during the chase.

The driver of the stolen truck will face several charges including evading arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and vehicle theft. He'll be arrested as soon as he's well enough to be released from the hospital.
