North Texans will be among the select few in the U.S. to get the opportunity to try McDonald’s new McPlant sandwich starting Wednesday.
Eight McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S. will be testing the McPlant starting November 3, and two of those locations are in Carrollton and Irving. The Carrollton location is at 2151 N. Josey Lane and the Irving location is at 8435 N. Belt Line Road.
The McPlant has a plant-based patty co-developed with Beyond Meat that is made from plant-based ingredients like peas, rice and potatoes, according to McDonald’s.
It will be served on a sesame seed bun with tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and a slice of American cheese.
The McPlant has already been tested in other countries. The other U.S. locations where it will be offered for a limited time are Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jennings and Lake Charles, Louisiana, and El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, California.
