2 injured in home explosion, fire near Saginaw
TARRANT COUNTY, Texas -
Two workers were injured at a home in northern Tarrant County when the residence exploded and caught fire Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters were called at 12:05 p.m. to the home 9100 block of S. Water Tower Road. The area is north of Saginaw.
Two male workers were spraying lacquer when the explosion occurred. They were airlifted to Parkland Health Hospital in Dallas with burns to the head, face and arms.
"Spraying lacquer created a flammable atmosphere," said Interim Tarrant County Fire Marshal David Butler. "It got an ignition source somewhere."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Firefighters from Haslet, Lake Worth, Saginaw, and Fort Worth responded to the explosion.
