WAXAHACHIE, Texas - Police in Waxahachie are looking for answers about the murder of a 17-year-old boy.
A neighbor in the 200 block of Cambridge Street said he heard what sounded like a firecracker around 6 p.m. Tuesday. The neighbor looked outside and saw a teenager getting out of a dark-colored car and running inside a house.
Later that evening, police said 17-year-old Gabriel Richie’s mother asked a friend to go check on him because she couldn’t get in touch with him. The friend found Richie dead from a gunshot wound.
Police believe the teen collapsed once he got inside the house.
Detectives are now interviewing the teen’s friends and looking for the suspect’s car. It’s described as a dark-colored Taurus or Altima.
