FORT WORTH, Texas - A drug bust involving several police agencies netted an estimated $16 million in methamphetamine.
The Tarrant County sheriff announced the seizure and credits other local, state and federal agencies who worked the case for two months.
They seized nearly 1,500 pounds of drugs and call meth the most dangerous street drug now in the DFW area.
"The DEA Fort Worth and all of our partners here today stand in unison to be able to take that street level drug transaction all the way up to seizers like this, all the way up into international drug trafficking investigations we'll hold these criminal organizations accountable. Our lives depend on it. Our family and friends live depend on it, and our community deserves it," said Eduardo Chavez, a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Police did not say if anyone was arrested and only said that the investigation is still underway.
