16-year-old shot and killed after minor car crash in Dallas

Dallas police believe a clipped side mirror led to a 16-year-old being killed. The shooter is still on the loose.

Dallas police believe a minor car crash on Tuesday night led to a 16-year-old being shot and killed, and the shooter is still on the loose.

Investigators say the victim and three other people were inside a car driving on Santa Anna Avenue, east of White Rock Lake near Shiloh Lane, when the car hit the side mirror of another vehicle.

The vehicles were going in opposite directions. Then, the suspect turned around and fired multiple shots.

16-year-old Emanuell Alexander, who was inside the car, was hit by one of the shots. The teen was taken to the hospital where he later died.

A man who works nearby gave FOX 4 video he recorded Wednesday morning of shell casings that remained on the ground.

Emanuell was one of four people in the car. After the shooting, ones with him flagged down a Dallas fire truck about eight miles away off the ERL Thornton Freeway service road toward Downtown Dallas.

Dallas police have not said who the 16-year-old was with or where he was sitting in the car. No one else was injured.

Police have not made an arrest in the case at this time. Investigators say they believe the vehicle was a beige or tan SUV or truck.

Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
