15-year-old Girl Hit by Car and Killed in Denton

DENTON, TEXAS - Denton Police say a 15-year old girl died after being hit by a car Friday night.

Around 7:30 p.m., according to police, a group of pedestrians tried to cross near the intersection of Teasley Lane and Montecito Drive.  A 15-year-old grl in the group was hit by an SUV driving north on Teasley Lane.  She was taken by ambulance to Denton Regional Medical Center emergency room where she was pronounced dead.

The driver and passenger in the SUV were not hurt.  Police say the driver was cooperative and was not arrested or cited at the scene.

The scene is about half a mile from Denton Guyer High School.  The teen victim has not been identified.
