14-year-old boy arrested for sexually assaulting 5-year-old Cooke County girl

Sheriffs in Cooke County arrested a 14-year-old boy accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl.

The condition of the girl is unknown, but she is being cared for at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth and is in the custody of Child Protective Services.

The Cooke County Sheriff’s Office said a 14-year-old teenage boy who lived in the same home as the girl has been arrested and charged in the assault. Officials told FOX4 the teen and young girl are not related.

The child was reported missing near the community of Valley View, north of Denton, on Tuesday morning. Deputies responded to the call in the 100 block of Chisholm Trail in a mobile home community.

After an extensive search, Cooke County deputies say, the missing child was found underneath a nearby abandoned mobile home. Investigators say the boy lured her away from their home Monday night and sexually assaulted her inside the abandoned home.

The sheriff’s department says other juveniles who were living at the home on Chisholm Trail were also removed and placed into CPS custody.

The criminal case will be referred to the Cooke County Attorney’s Office.
